1/5/2008 - TickerHound Challenge

Posted by Wayne on January 5, 2008 – 3:17 am

We put out some tough questions last week…I didn’t really know what to expect, but we got some amazing answers!

In fact I think we received more responses this week than we did for the first week…that’s what made this decision especially difficult for us.

So after much debate here are this week’s TickerHound Challenge Winners:

Steph - This was a great, well written and informative answer…well done. Click here to read Steph’s answer.

Dragonsbane - Once again Dragonsbane makes his presence felt in the TickerHound community with this extremely insightful answer - Click here to read it now.

Charlo - A virtual newcomer to the TickerHound community, Charlo earned the top spot for a tough question - not only did he answer the question well but took it a step further by giving a stock recommendation on top of it…Click here to check it out now.

Congratulations guys! You really stepped up to the plate and knocked the ball out of the park on this one.

I also want to make special mention of this week’s Top TickerHounds:

Congratulations ladies! It’s great to see some new names rising through the ranks so quickly.

Let’s see if you can do it again with this week’s questions:

Good luck, and have a great week!

Yes the market will head south for most of the first half of the year. I then see housing hitting a bottom, oil will finally peak and I hope the the Fed will be done weakening the dollar, if it’s not too late by then.
As for investments, hard metals/commodities are still a good bet against any inflation, along with some utilities and how about a little bottom feeding on good value investments either in housing, financials or drug companies. In response to the last question, it’s a no brainer that energy will continue to grow along with alternative energy stocks. This might be a good time to buy an energy ETF for diversification purposes.
